When it comes to Weight Loss San Diego going on a diet can be really challenging, especially if you don’t have time to meal prep every week. Having low carb smoothies can be a great meal substitute and help you to lose weight without having to do an extreme diet. Remember when trying to lose weight you also need to incorporate daily exercise, stay hydrated (which will help with mistaking thirst for hunger) and find balance in your meals. Here are some great low carb smoothies I have added into my meal plans that have help to keep off the pounds.
My new favorite low carb smoothie I have for breakfast is easy to make. Here is what you will need: 1 ½ cups of almond milk (or coconut milk), ¼ cup of cucumber, ¼ cup of avocado, ½ teaspoon of chia seeds, 1 ounce of spinach, ¼ cup of celery, 1 scoop of protein powder, 1 teaspoon of matcha, 10 drops of liquid stevia. The matacha powder is optional and use the chia seeds to garish your finished smoothie. Not only will this smoothie keep you full for the morning but it will also give you a boost of energy.
In the summer time when the strawberries are fresh I love to make this smoothie for lunch. Here is what you will need: 1 cup of almond or coconut milk, ½ cup of frozen strawberries, 2 tablespoons of almonds, ½ teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1 tablespoon of chia seeds. For this smoothie add all the ingredients to the blender and enjoy!!!!
Having a strong back and a strong core is a major key in keeping the body strong and healthy. Doing yoga on a daily basis is a great way to stretch and strengthen all of your muscles but there are specific poses that will help to strengthen your back. Majority of us spend most of our time at work and our body starts to take shape and memory of our postures at work, which can cause us some aches and pains.
We can usually categorize people in two different types of work. There is the first group of people who sit all day at a computer or do desk work and those who are doing physical labor, lifting heaving objects most of the day. If you are a someone who sits all day at a computer you know by the end of the day your posture starts to suffer and your shoulders and neck can start to round forward and ache. For those of you who perform physical labor you are doing a lot of bending and lifting, this can become painful over time and pain in the back, neck and shoulders.
Extended triangle pose can be a great pose for those who are sitting all day or doing heavy labor because it offers so many benefits stretching out so many parts of our bodies. Benefits of extended triangle pose are; relieve back pain, stretches out the chest, spine, calves, shoulders, hips and hamstrings. To begin extended triangle pose stand with your legs about 3 feet apart, raising your arms parallel to the floor with your palms facing down. Then turn your left foot towards the right and your right foot about 90 degrees towards your right side. Make sure your right heel is aligned with your left heel. This is very similar as how you would stand in Warrior 2 pose. Inhale and extend your body over to the right side shifting at the hips and back towards the left side, as you exhale bring your right arm down towards your knee, shin, ankle or floor. The left arm should be pointing straight and spiral your heart to the sky.
Stay here for a few breaths and slowly using your core come back up to a standing position. Repeat this on the other side. Remember to allow your body to go where it does, do not over extend it or force it. Over time if you do this pose consistently you will notice your body gain more flexibility and strength.
